Kate's LoweCo Art

I want to create and animation (animé) that is realistic. Animé it self is an art but not highly looked upon because of certain inappropriate ways to use it. I on the other hand, want to change that. I want to make it an art again and not just a DC comic made for video game nerds. I want my next set of artworks to be trying to capture the movement of the bodies, the beauty of animé, and the depth of detail and the real world. The concept is to capture the many ups and downs of teenage love, which seems to be the most dramatic of any other love. Focusing specifically on one fictional couple living a normal teenage life but happen to let fate run coarse and pull them into a heap of emotions. My concentration will be a light storyboard almost, with key moments in relationships as a highlight. Sometimes I spend hours online at deviantart.com looking at pictures. That one picture of the two teens kissing gave me a spark for this project a while back. I enjoy how the artwork is so simple, but it has emotion and lots of expression. I want to turn this and make it have more depth, a story too. I believe the artist did not express the beauty of the moment enough. For the mediums I will try and stay around the range of pens and paint. Pens if I want the colors to really stand on their own or paint is I want to get the shadows and the 3-D feel of the couple in the art. The paper I use will depend on what medium I end up using but the size will be either really small, or three times as big as a normal sheet of printing paper. The colors will depend on the feeling of the picture. Because the feelings different colors give people I will try to follow charts like this:

In addition my own feelings of the colors will be added. In the art I want the couple to stand out the most obviously, therefore I think I will make them be the only thing in color, but for the others and the background I will try to stick with paint and pen, little pencil, because that’s all I have worked with all year. Finally, I think to add more character to the storyline I have decided to possibly base the artworks off of either a whole song or part of a song. Hello (single edit)- Martin Solveig & Dragonette, which will represent them catching each others eye, You’re So Damn Hot- Ok Go will be something like a date, Getting into you- Relient K will represent him falling for her, Smother me- the used will be him wanting only her and trying to get her to be his, Love In a Box- the Workday Release will show a present he gives her, Real with me- Cady Groves will show hardships and either jealousy or just anger on the girls side, Too much- All Time Low will show the boy getting weak or bored, Still Around- 3OH!3 will represent him looking back and trying to look at her but his friends will be either holding him back or he will be hiding behind them, Please don’t go- Mike Posner will show him not wanting her to leave, lastly, I miss you- Jamestown Story will show her at a funeral and that will be the end.
